Welcome to Human Politics. (Part 1)

I wanted to say hello and thank you to all our new followers. I began this blog as a way to put a human perspective in American politics and current events. Most Americans only interact with politics through the news media or politicians, and both groups often times miss the point entirely. Government should be about people, it should be about making things better for everyone. By following Human Politics, recommending it, and sharing this blog with friends and family, we can begin a new style of political discourse in America. One that is accessible, respectful, compassionate, and real.

Here are some Human Politics entries that will give you a better idea of what we’re all about. Part 2 will be posted later tonight:

An Answer. (01/10/1) - Three years ago, Jared Loughner got a chance to ask Rep. Gabrielle Giffords one question. “What is government if words have no meaning?”

Privacy (Information is The New Oil) (12/23/10) - Two independent paths, technology and terrorism, have crossed to establish privacy as this decade’s next big issue.

The Sliding Scale of Debate (12/16/10) - We must raise the level of debate in this country.

Us vs. Them (11/04/10) - There’s a reason we have a two party system. Rather than vilifying the opposition, we must work together to make this a more perfect union.
